I am Adrinskald Samsson poet for the Jorvik Festival and Will?s cater specially for us to provide ?my table? - a Viking supper. Thursday 25th October sees us upstairs entertaining and you better book fast. Well it is recommended, there is a danger it will get full. L. Spooky Park Dark ? (Rowntree Park). Halloween Saturday the 27th that is, sees me turning up at Rowntree Park again to chill the silly-Billies. Well I will be a bit scary. Tales in the dark. In the trees. In the park. I believe there is a fancy dress and lots of activities before I start telling my tales. But do check with Stephen. Last years event was chocker block. It will be from about 4 with darkness sending us into the woods with mummies (of both varieties perhaps) and dragons and ghouls and fairies and thingies about 5. Well is that OK do you think? Check with the Young Friends of Rowntree Park or with Stephen Whittaker, Community Leisure Officer, Parks & Open Spaces, City of York Council 0777 194 11 55 or 01904 553423 Parks (click it and go)

M. Williams Bar Story Nights. Will screeched to a halt in the middle of Stamford Bridge the other day because he didn?t think I was going to be able to make my regular evening of storytelling at Williams Bar. It was Ok and I did make it for my 8 o?clock start in the lovely upstairs bar. Every week I am there till about half nine. You can come along as early as you like and stay as late as you like drinkies-wise, but those are the times to be enthralled. At only three pound a head it is popular with regulars, tourists... more

N. Mists of the Ancients. The flames of mysticism rise through our Celtic hearts in a swirl of ballad, percussive echo, melody and resonant word. Lucid's Elaine Wallace sings and on strings. Janey Stockdale returns to our hearts from Chechelele, Percussion Cafe and Frankly My Dear. Adrian Spendlow makes with his most melodious as he undertones below her ballads. Be wise. Special Guests include Dan Webster. Monday 5th November 8 pm. Admission £4 Buy your tickets at the City screen or contact them ahead to be sure: City Screen staff 01904 541144 Email City Screen (click and write) City Screen (click it and go) City Screen 12-17 Coney Street, York, YO1 9QL

Q. Fortean Times. This is a plug for my Nordic Vision Journeys a unique kind of foretelling reading by post, but I do just have to tell you abut it because of the reaction from Fortean Times. The staff are sending for them! Word has got around and the advertising staff have read their own advert:

B2. Jerry Scott Show this Thursday 11pm

Good old Jerry Scott, warra great guy and not only him but you get me too. Spooky or what this Thursday at 11pm on Radio York. You can listen on the net as well as read here about how good we are together. There is something spooky and very atmospheric about this show and hearing me on there only deepens the experience. Listen late, listen. Every month Jerry gets me in and records them tales n sounds. So you are sure to hear me once a month and maybe more often as he plays recordings. We are also keeping our collection and there will be a ?best of? album in a few months. Perhaps when I have done a years worth of shows in a few months will be the time for this. You will hear me on there filling you in on all these events you are reading about here but in full technisound. Mebsey you can make us some suggestions. The guest spot came about , well cos me n Jerry is pals o? course, but also when callers pointed out that late at night was when things were OK to air. What should I cover? Do you know of spooky events you would like me to look up and tell? Can you request from my repertoire? Should I do some of my well loved and controversial or discussion-able poems? Are there topics you would like to challenge me with? Perhaps I should tell stories in a way that set off those late night discussions you get on er late night discussion radio? Perhaps....
